Tis the season to stress & gamble.

Why is it that as you get older holidays just get more and more stressful?
Christmas is FOUR days away. We celebrate on Christmas Eve.. so that’s only THREE!! Crap.

When I was little we used to spend holidays with my entire family. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Siblings, Grandparents..
Then I started to see how crazy my family was & recently, within the past few years, we’ve disowned some of them.
Now, I just have my parents, my grandparents, my sister, my niece and Luke’s family.
I’m okay with that. Trust me. Dealing with the drama of my extended family ruins the holiday completely.
Sometimes if I think about it, it makes me a little upset. Only because I know I tried so hard. Not my loss.

Christmas Eve is always at my parent’s house. The family we didn’t disown comes over to eat & open presents.
Then Luke & I go to his house to exchange gifts with his parents and his sister.

Christmas Day I open up gifts in the morning at my parent’s house. Then go to Luke’s parents for an hour before he leaves all the Christmas celebration to go work all night. Normally then I just spend the rest of the night with my parents.

This Christmas (Now I’m singing that stupid “this Christmas” Christmas song.. I hate Christmas music) after Luke goes to work my parents decided we need to do something fun….

I haven’t been to Canada in almost a year. I dig Canada. They’re so nice when you’re trying to get in..
Then when I come back to America I feel like I’m a criminal. It’s insane.

Last time Luke and I went to Caesars was after a Red Wings game. We had a few beers at the bar..
Or at least I did since he'd rather drive than drink. See, we’re the perfect match. ANYWAYS..
We gambled and I won $40! I don’t gamble.. I don’t like losing money. So $40 was fab.

Then, we decided to try out the Martini bar..
Which was stupid. I still don’t know why he let me sit down.
I’m a craft beer drinker, so spending $20 on a 4 pack makes me assume it’s a beer I’ll enjoy.
I go to this martini bar and I order some $20 martini that tasted fabulous and I drank it in less than 3 minutes.
I believe I tried another one that was like $16ish or something.. same thing. 3 minutes tops and it was done.
Martinis are stupid.

So then I decided I want a Jagerbomb before we have to deal with getting back into America.
But, apparently they can’t legally mix Jager with Red Bull so I they tell me to buy two shots of Jager on the rocks and a can of sugar free red bull.. so I do which was just stupid. Then, I assumed that Lucas or someone would help me out and pour the red bull in the drink before handing it to me.. but, after a huge gulp.. I quickly discovered I was on my own with the mixing.

I’m excited to go on Christmas and not visit the Martini bar.

Hopefully I win big money!.. I’ve spent so much money on everyone and I still don’t feel I’ve bought enough.

I know that a lot of bloggers are going on some type of “Christmas Break” from blogging..
I slack enough that you may assume that was my plan.
I hope to blog almost daily. I guess we’ll just see…

What are your holiday plans? Do you have all your shopping done?!

BY THE WAY! I just want to let you all know that I do still have sponsor deals going on…
The previous post has all the codes so you can get some ad space for practically free.

  3. I'm an absolute beer girl. I just can't deal with the frilly mixed drinks. Plus, I just prefer it. Mixed drinks are for baaaad days. beer is for everyday. I'm not a gambler either. I won $5 once on a slot machine and cashed out. I hate losing $ I've worked my ass off to earn. Win big!

  5. i feel like we are life twins. We've gone twenty-strong to the casino as a family. But it's an Indian casino and not quite as awesome.

Or maybe just as awesome, depending on how you look at it!

Now or never... (QUICK UPDATE)

I wasn't lying when I said that I wanted to get back into blogging. However, life took multiple turns and I've been too busy to sit down at my computer and produce a decent blog post. It can't hurt to fill in anyone that still reads my blogs, but might not closely follow me on social media. After TWO years of being single and not being into the idea of dating anyone, I'm actually in a relationship. I know at the beginning of a relationship it's expected to be in the state that you feel like you've never been happier. The difference is, I've known my boyfriend for 11 years. When we were young, we'd always act like a couple. We never had a "title" back then no matter how many times we reconnected. Seven months ago, he finally moved back home. I was so excited to have him back in my life. Then I realized that I wasn't okay with just being his friend. After about 5 months of blowing him off and him giving up trying to hang out, I finally ex...

Thoughts from an ex-blogger..

My desire to get back to writing has been so strong lately. I can't seem to figure out if I want to blog again. At the same time, I REALLY want to blog again. I've found comfort in my privacy. This comfort has made me uncomfortable with openly sharing details of my life. However, blogging always was there to provide me with an outlet to express my thoughts, feelings and emotions. The people I was able to connect with through blogging was always an incredible bonus. I didn't want to blog when I realized that people that I don't want to be part of my life were reading my blog posts. During this time I also stopped being active on Twitter and Instagram. I felt that it was unfair to me that specific people were able to catch up on my life via social media. There are many issue I face with returning to my blog. I need to allow myself to step outside of my comfort zone of keeping my life private. I need to be okay with the fact that some people, that shouldn't be ...

You can’t blog with us!

I’m not digging all of these big shot bloggers trying to make these rules for blogging. I have read posts about how not everyone should have a blog. If you’re not a big shot blogger, like myself.. this post is for you. If you are a big shot blogger, this post is also for you.. but, none of you will read this. These are just some of the rules that I don’t follow.. Your blog will be judged by it’s cover. Have a perfect layout. If spending $100 to have some make a layout for my blog means you’ll read my blog and you’ll follow me.. then I don’t give a damn if you’re not following me. Respond to all comments left on your blog. It is important to respond to comments.. however, I do understand why people can’t always respond. Personally.. if you ask me something I most likely will respond. A lot of the time I get comments that pretty much all I can say is “Thank you!” to.. I mean.. I’ll absolutely always respond if you e-mail me.. or even if you comment on instagram.. I respond almost inst...
