Boston.

It was just recently that I decided to add Boston to my list of cities I want to visit. It seemed as if this past weekend everyone was talking about wanting to go to the marathon, running in it or supporting a friend who was running. While in class on Monday I was checking Facebook and noticed status after status all about Boston. I googled it to see what everyone was talking about and instantly I felt sick to my stomach.

This time last year LBZ and I flew to Nashville for the Country Music Marathon. We ended up over sleeping by about 30 minutes and never ran it. I was really upset that we weren't going to be a part of it, but once we made it to Broadway to support all the runners I instantly felt overwhelmed with happiness. The environment at a marathon is so positive and motivating.

My mind instantly took me back to Nashville as I read the first article on the Boston Marathon. I thought about what it felt like to stand in a huge crowd, in the streets of Nashville and just cheering on every single runner. I never felt fear, I felt comfort. Remembering those feelings made my heartbreak for all of those people who felt the same way I did and then out of no where had to go through something so horrific that no one should ever have to experience.

People were very quick to post on social networks about how awful this world we live in is becoming. Yes, it's absolutely terrifying to think that something awful can happen anywhere at any time. It's sickening that there are people out there who could do hard to another person.

We have to remind ourselves that there is still so much good in this world. I find it amazing that so many people were willing to do anything to help. People gave the shirt off their back, helped injured people, comforted others, opened their homes to anyone, donated blood and anything else they possibly could. Those are the stories we should be focusing on in times like these.

My heart goes out to everyone affected by the tragedy in Boston.

  1. Great post. I have personally run in a few half marathons, and agree that it is so awesome to see everyone coming to the finish to watch and support all of the runners. It is so tragic that this happened, but yet there are so many wonderful people in our country that helped out so much with those who were in need.

  2. I will be in Nashville for the run this coming weekend! I am a wee bit nervous because of what happened but hopefully with security up it will be a bit calmer.. I feel bad for those lives lost & those people hurt!

You can’t blog with us!

I’m not digging all of these big shot bloggers trying to make these rules for blogging. I have read posts about how not everyone should have a blog. If you’re not a big shot blogger, like myself.. this post is for you. If you are a big shot blogger, this post is also for you.. but, none of you will read this. These are just some of the rules that I don’t follow.. Your blog will be judged by it’s cover. Have a perfect layout. If spending $100 to have some make a layout for my blog means you’ll read my blog and you’ll follow me.. then I don’t give a damn if you’re not following me. Respond to all comments left on your blog. It is important to respond to comments.. however, I do understand why people can’t always respond. Personally.. if you ask me something I most likely will respond. A lot of the time I get comments that pretty much all I can say is “Thank you!” to.. I mean.. I’ll absolutely always respond if you e-mail me.. or even if you comment on instagram.. I respond almost inst...

Friday’s Letters!!!!

Dear Bret Michaels, Once I had a film class. It was so badass and made me wish I was an actress. I actually love being in front of the camera acting.. ANYWAYS.. This was the closest I’ve been to you.. when I was on a fake Rock Of Love.. with a fake Bret Michaels.. But, I’ll be seeing you live this Saturday!!! Dear Poison and Def Leppard, See you on Saturday!!!.. I’m pretty damn nervous to party with a bunch of people older than my mom. But, thank you for giving me an excuse to have extra big hair and dress like I belong in the 80’s.. I’ll look better than all these old chicks that still live in the 80’s.. Just sayin’..
