Happies & Crappies

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up
A new link-up for me, I'm actually excited. I know I've been doing way too many link-ups, but I try and make them as personal as possible. I'll be back in action shortly, I swear.

HAPPIES

1. Having people who remind me that I should live my life the way I want and not be concerned with offending others. Yes, this may be mainly related to blogging. I received a few e-mails and comments about my last post that made me grateful that I have readers who may not agree with everything I say or do, but they enjoy our differences as much as our similarities.

2. I have the entire day off! It's my first day this week that I won't have to drive 30+ minutes to school. I also don't work. Yes, I have a lot to get done, but I have all day to get things done and to be able to do them on my time.

3. I'm starting to feel more happy, with myself and just in general. The past few months I've allowed the negative to take over and ruin anything positive. I'm realizing that I have to do what makes me happy. I deserve to be happy. There are times that it's perfectly okay to be selfish. I put other's happiness before my own many times. I'm 21 years old, I should be completely selfish. Selfish in a way that I'm going to do whatever I need to do in order to have the life that I want. I will never be selfish in a way that would make others unhappy. I will always be willing to go out of my way for other people, but I also need to go out of my way for my own happiness.

4. My mom bought me a new pillow that is some kind of cooling pillow. No clue how that's possible, but it's pretty fabulous!

5. I started working out again. Now I just need to stick with it.

6. The weather here has been nice enough that I can wear shorts and not be completely freezing. I'd be really happy with 80 degree weather year round. However, I can't move to Florida because there's too many snakes.

7. I bought new electric hookahs that taste AMAZING. I also bought a new IPA I havn't tried which got awesome reviews!

CRAPPIES

1. I was happy that yet another Victoria's Secret package came in.. a new swim suit, other goodies.. however, I was very bummed that the bronzing shimmer crap I bought wasn't shipped and instead I received some kind of "beach hair" crap. I only use salon products so now I have to send it back and wait for what I ordered.

2. My allergies have been absolutely awful. I'm waiting for my allergy medicine to kick in. My ears, throat and eyes have been killing me.

3. I need to limit my beer drinking. But vodka and whiskey don't have that same amazing flavor as an IPA full of hops. And I can't choke down crappy light beer.

4. Being a female can suck. Hormones can make you absolutely crazy. We have to deal with our uterus either holding a baby or practically self destructing because it's not holding a baby. I could do without a uterus. Which is of course the reason I'm lucky enough to be stuck with a retroverted one..

5. I'm terrified of the dark, if I'm alone. I feel like I could beat anyone up those 18 stairs after turning all the lights off downstairs.

Comments

  1. I love being alone but I hate being alone in my house after dark. I always think stuff like your #5 :)

  2. I think that its good that you can stay true to yourself sweet girl & right what you feel is best for you & not others! Some will never be happy & that is ok let them be miserable but always remember this is your blog & not theirs! If they do not like it they can just unfollow you!

Now or never... (QUICK UPDATE)

I wasn't lying when I said that I wanted to get back into blogging. However, life took multiple turns and I've been too busy to sit down at my computer and produce a decent blog post. It can't hurt to fill in anyone that still reads my blogs, but might not closely follow me on social media. After TWO years of being single and not being into the idea of dating anyone, I'm actually in a relationship. I know at the beginning of a relationship it's expected to be in the state that you feel like you've never been happier. The difference is, I've known my boyfriend for 11 years. When we were young, we'd always act like a couple. We never had a "title" back then no matter how many times we reconnected. Seven months ago, he finally moved back home. I was so excited to have him back in my life. Then I realized that I wasn't okay with just being his friend. After about 5 months of blowing him off and him giving up trying to hang out, I finally ex...

Thoughts from an ex-blogger..

My desire to get back to writing has been so strong lately. I can't seem to figure out if I want to blog again. At the same time, I REALLY want to blog again. I've found comfort in my privacy. This comfort has made me uncomfortable with openly sharing details of my life. However, blogging always was there to provide me with an outlet to express my thoughts, feelings and emotions. The people I was able to connect with through blogging was always an incredible bonus. I didn't want to blog when I realized that people that I don't want to be part of my life were reading my blog posts. During this time I also stopped being active on Twitter and Instagram. I felt that it was unfair to me that specific people were able to catch up on my life via social media. There are many issue I face with returning to my blog. I need to allow myself to step outside of my comfort zone of keeping my life private. I need to be okay with the fact that some people, that shouldn't be ...

Sleepy Momma

I did plan on posting this previous week and the week before.. however, I've been so incredibly exhausted and busy. I guess that's a great way of putting, welcome to mom life! To be completely honest, I'm so happy with where I'm at in life right now. Yes, there are things that are difficult to deal with and I know some of those things will always be hard. For a while I wished that I could go back well over a year ago and made a different decision. I don't wish that now because I've grown so much and gained things I could never give up. My strength, my motivation and my happiness is at an all time high. It feels amazing. In other news...  I finally got a kitten! She's such a sassy girl, but she can be the most loving thing at times! When she wakes up and I'm next to her or when I pick her up, she grabs my cheeks and kisses me.  The bottom left photo is a result of a playful kitty that needs her nails trimmed. If you foll...
