My eyes need your help!

A question I always get asked is, "Do you wear contacts?!" People ask me this because my eyes are so blue and they just assume I buy my eye color. Nope, born with it!

Trust me, if I wasn't blind I absolutely would not want wear contacts. For years I've had contacts. I used to have the monthly ones, but shortly after wearing then my eyes would get all swollen and red. People either thought I was stoned or I had pink eye. It was awful.

I found out I was allergic to contacts and the eye doctor I was going to at the time was the only one to be able to figure that out. The only solution at the time was to get these prescription eye drops that cost around $40-$50 AFTER insurance. The bottle was smaller than the size of travel size eye drops. They helped, but a few months later I wanted another solution.

My eye doctor had moved to another office and the new guy told me I probably couldn't wear contacts. I wasn't a fan of that. So we went through a bunch of trials of different contacts. Finally, the only ones that worked were the Bausch & Lomb Daily contacts. They're about $35 for a 45 day supply, but they're great.

Lately I've been going out, forgetting to grab my glasses and waking up and not being able to open my eyes. Trust me, being allergic to something you put in your eyes is not enjoyable. I love my glasses, but sometimes I like to change things up and I'd really like to get another cute pair. So I've been online shopping, no surprise there.

I've seen a few cute pairs...

I really like the square frame glasses. I received a pair from Firmoo a few months back, but I didn't have prescription lens put in. I've seen quite a few from BonLook that I'm interested in and I really like that they offer free shipping and 100% refunds. The Versace ones from FramesDrirect are super cute, but maybe too much since I'm just looking for a back-up pair.

I'm so indecisive, so please feel free to help me out with deciding!
Also if any of you wear glasses, where do you normally order them from?

  1. I abuse my eyes with contacts too and keep looking for new frames that I am more likely to wear. Unfortunately, I am also indecisive, so I can't help. My sister ordered hers from Warby Parker, they actually send you several pairs to try on at home and then you send back the ones you don't want. She raves about the company!

  2. I know that this is ridiculous, but I love the Versace pair. Even if they are just part time glasses, get em!

  3. Oh my goodness your eyes are gorgeous! I'm a contact wearer and glasses wearer too. Picking out new frames is really hard for me too. Glad you found a pair of contacts that would work for your eyes. It would be kind of a bummer to be stuck with glasses all the time.

  4. Your eyes are beautiful! I often get asked the same question but if my hair colour is mine or do I colour it? To which I reply "its all natural!"

Now or never... (QUICK UPDATE)

I wasn't lying when I said that I wanted to get back into blogging. However, life took multiple turns and I've been too busy to sit down at my computer and produce a decent blog post. It can't hurt to fill in anyone that still reads my blogs, but might not closely follow me on social media. After TWO years of being single and not being into the idea of dating anyone, I'm actually in a relationship. I know at the beginning of a relationship it's expected to be in the state that you feel like you've never been happier. The difference is, I've known my boyfriend for 11 years. When we were young, we'd always act like a couple. We never had a "title" back then no matter how many times we reconnected. Seven months ago, he finally moved back home. I was so excited to have him back in my life. Then I realized that I wasn't okay with just being his friend. After about 5 months of blowing him off and him giving up trying to hang out, I finally ex...

Sleepy Momma

I did plan on posting this previous week and the week before.. however, I've been so incredibly exhausted and busy. I guess that's a great way of putting, welcome to mom life! To be completely honest, I'm so happy with where I'm at in life right now. Yes, there are things that are difficult to deal with and I know some of those things will always be hard. For a while I wished that I could go back well over a year ago and made a different decision. I don't wish that now because I've grown so much and gained things I could never give up. My strength, my motivation and my happiness is at an all time high. It feels amazing. In other news...  I finally got a kitten! She's such a sassy girl, but she can be the most loving thing at times! When she wakes up and I'm next to her or when I pick her up, she grabs my cheeks and kisses me.  The bottom left photo is a result of a playful kitty that needs her nails trimmed. If you foll...

Thoughts from an ex-blogger..

My desire to get back to writing has been so strong lately. I can't seem to figure out if I want to blog again. At the same time, I REALLY want to blog again. I've found comfort in my privacy. This comfort has made me uncomfortable with openly sharing details of my life. However, blogging always was there to provide me with an outlet to express my thoughts, feelings and emotions. The people I was able to connect with through blogging was always an incredible bonus. I didn't want to blog when I realized that people that I don't want to be part of my life were reading my blog posts. During this time I also stopped being active on Twitter and Instagram. I felt that it was unfair to me that specific people were able to catch up on my life via social media. There are many issue I face with returning to my blog. I need to allow myself to step outside of my comfort zone of keeping my life private. I need to be okay with the fact that some people, that shouldn't be ...
